Whether you want to expand your welding knowledge or you are starting a welding career from scratch, you'll receive a great introduction during this 48-hour Welding Basics course beginning at Yankton's RTEC on Monday, May 15, 2017. This course, which will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, will run through June 26, 2017. However, there will be no class on Monday, May 29, in observance of Memorial Day.
During the 12-night class, students will have an opportunity to experiment with different types of welding while covering topics such as welding positions, weld defects and repair, welding symbols, basic types of material, safe operation of a cutting torch as well as brazing and gas welding.
Cost of the course is $1,500 plus tax. Applications are available by contacting RTEC at (605) 668-5700.
If you already possess welding skills, be sure to check out RTEC's other welding courses and opportunities to earn American Welding Society (AWS) certification in our AWS Accredited Testing Facility.
RTEC's upgrade welding course begins May 16, 2017, and ends on June 22, 2017. Previous welding experience is required.
