Engineering is Elementary Workshop
Date: August 1, 2018 - August 2, 2018
Children are born engineers – they are fascinated with building, taking things apart, and how things work.
Using storybooks and applying the engineering design process, explore two fun and engaging engineering challenges – designing windmills and knee braces – using household materials. Explore how this fun, flexible, teacher-tested, inquiry-based curriculum integrates engineering with the science topics regularly taught in grades K-8, meets the new South Dakota science standards and connects with ELA, social studies, and mathematics. Fee includes the participant’s choice of one of the 20 Engineering is Elementary units.
