For more than 20 years, the Solid Brass Quartet has brought the brilliance, warmth, and majesty of live brass music to weddings, concerts, corporate events, churches, and special celebrations throughout the region. From timeless ceremonial favorites such as Trumpet Voluntary, Rondeau, and Pachelbel's Canon, to beloved holiday classics, jazz standards, dixieland favorites, and popular selections like Simple Gifts, Sweet Georgia Brown and The Entertainer, the quartet delivers polished performances tailored to every occasion. Led by professional trombonist and musical director Chris Acker, the Solid Brass Quartet is comprised of four of the area's finest professional brass musicians. Acker's distinguished career spans Broadway productions, symphony performances, jazz ensembles, recording sessions, and appearances with legendary artists including Eagles, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Frankie Valli, The Supremes, Johnny Mathis, and many others. As musical director of Extra Space Music and contractor for touring Broadway productions through Omaha Performing Arts, he brings decades of experience and professionalism to the ensemble.
