Yankton Thrive
Jul 1    Youth Hunter Education Challenge
The Youth Hunter Education Challenge, YHEC, provides a fun environment for kids 18 and younger to improve their hunting, marksmanship and safety skills. Through its simulated hunting situations, live fire exercises and educational and responsibility events, YHEC helps build upon skills learned in basic hunter education courses and encourages safer, lifelong hunting habits. YHEC participants will learn skills such as hunter safety trail, wildlife identification, archery and other shooting sports. All equipment and supplies are provided, participants are welcome to bring their own.

Yankton Community Leadership Program
The Yankton Community Leadership Program is a comprehensive curriculum to analyze characteristics associated with local government, organizations, and leadership and economic trends. This course helps attendees understand the unique challenges and issues that face our community and encouragement toward participation in future growth and development.

Jul 11    Chamber Ambassador Committee Special After Hours Summer Bash
The Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Committee invite Chamber members to a special After Hours Summer Bash.  This Bash is similar to a mixer but with seven business sponsors:  NFAA, Rounding 3rd, EASW, Lakeside Rentals, Broadway Chrysler, Soil Works, and Kopetsky's Ace Hardware.  
There will be hot dogs, chips and ice cream served.  A cash bar will be available. 
Visit the sponsor booths, receive a card and create your best 5-card poker hand to win $100 in Chamber Dollars.  Lakeside Rental will have a human velcro wall for summer fun.  NFAA will have bow shooting available and so much more.  
Come out and enjoy a few hours of summer fun with the Chamber Ambassadors.

Jul 23 - Jul 26    NFAA High Performance Youth Compound Academy
Youth archers:  Join us at the 5th Annual Youth Compound Academy at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center in Yankton, South Dakota. Train with some of the top youth archers (ages 12-18) and coaches from around the country, July 23-26, 2017. Presented by the NFAA Foundation, this 4-day academy will cover all facets of archery competition; including tournament prep, training & conditioning, shot cycle, and equipment set up. Receive 1-on-1 training with top professional archers and the nation’s top Level 3-5 coaches. The 2017 academy will take a closer look at the NFAA Field format and how to effectively prepare for a field tournament.  This academy will feature pro archers Paige Gore and George Ryals IV.

Jul 28 - Jul 30    NFAA Outdoor Field Nationals
Join us at the 72nd annual NFAA Outdoor National Field Championships in Yankton, SD July 28-30, 2017. This 3-day tournament features a field, hunter, and animal round. Tentative Schedule is Friday-Field, Saturday-Hunter and Sunday-Animal.

This annual event coordinated by Anchoring to Hope Paul Taggart Foundation for Suicide Awareness & Survivor Aftercare.  It will follow the Paul Taggart Poker Run and will be held at The Landing/The Old Mill.
