Yankton Area Arts is seeking a passionate, organized, and community-minded Executive Director to lead our nonprofit organization and champion the arts in the Yankton area. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader who loves both big-picture vision and hands-on work.

Yankton Area Arts supports, promotes, and enriches the arts in our community through exhibitions, events, education, and advocacy. We work closely with artists, members, donors, and partners to keep creativity thriving in our region.
 
Position Overview
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and success of Yankton Area Arts. This includes fundraising, grant writing, financial oversight, programming, staff supervision, and daily operations. The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors to advance the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
 
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the organization
Write, manage, and report on grants and funding opportunities
Plan and execute events, programs, and fundraising initiatives
Develop and grow memberships and community engagement
Oversee daily financial operations, budgeting, and basic bookkeeping
Supervise office operations, staff, and volunteers
Maintain relationships with artists, donors, sponsors, and community partners
Collaborate with the Board of Directors on strategy, planning, and governance
 
Qualifications & Skills
Experience in nonprofit management, arts administration, or a related field
Strong grant writing and fundraising experience
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to manage budgets and oversee financial operations
Event planning and project management experience
Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a board
Passion for the arts and community development
