Position Overview
The Construction Crew Member / Skilled Construction Laborer will work as part of a construction crew building agricultural, commercial, and residential structures. This position will assist with all phases of construction, from site preparation and material handling to framing, steel installation, finishing, remodeling, and general job-site activities.
The ideal candidate is someone who is dependable, willing to learn, takes pride in quality workmanship, works well with others, and understands that safety comes first.
Experience in post-frame construction, steel buildings, carpentry, concrete, roofing, remodeling, or general construction is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the construction of post-frame and pre-engineered steel buildings.
• Read and follow construction plans, drawings, measurements, and instructions.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and construction equipment as trained.
• Assist with site preparation, demolition, remodeling, repairs, and renovations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
• Follow company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Work safely at heights and around construction equipment when properly trained and equipped.
• Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, customers, and subcontractors.
• Represent KBI professionally while working on customer properties.
• Complete tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship.
• Perform other construction-related duties as needed.

• Previous construction experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.

Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following is beneficial:

• Post-frame construction
• Steel building construction
• Construction equipment operation
• Reading blueprints or construction plans
