    Electrical Controls Programmer

    Job Description

    Basic Function
    Assist Electrical Project Engineer to develop software and networking solutions for all product lines. Assist in troubleshooting software and controls related issues on existing equipment.
    Primary Duties and Responsibilities
    1. Compile information for troubleshooting field problems, resolve field problems directly with customers over the phone or at job sites, act as a liaison between Electrical Engineering and Service and occasionally travel on field trips involving overnight stay away from the office to resolve field problems.
    1. Develop PLC and HMI (Human Machine Interface) programs for PLC control of electrical-powered or hydraulically-powered equipment.
    1. Interface software controls with ECM (Electronic Control Modules) for diesel engines and telematics systems.
    1. Perform electrical drafting duties associated with electrical design components using AutoCAD software.
    1. Complete and update Bills of Material for electrical design.
    1. Assist in dealing with questions/support for manufacturing process involving troubleshooting electrical components and systems.
    1. Assist Electrical Project Engineer as assigned.
    Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
    1.  Assist other Engineering personnel in testing, demonstration, research dealing with electrical components.
    2.  Field travel for equipment start-up, demonstration, or service.
    Essential Qualifications
    1. Two-year Associate’s Degree or Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in a related area from an accredited technical institute.
    2. Knowledge of PLC and HMI software. Siemens TIA Portal and/or CodeSys preferred.
    3. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, troubleshooting practices, and procedures within the electrical programming field.
    Essential Functions
    1. Ability to operate necessary office equipment and tools to perform technician functions which include AutoCAD systems and PLC/HMI programming software.
    1. Ability to work well with others and demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
    1. Ability to travel by air and land.
    1. Ability to perform duties in environments which include heavy industrial setting, quarry/pit locations, and construction sites with associated air pollutants and noise levels.
    1. Ability to climb on equipment, etc. to inspect, troubleshoot or gather design information.
