    Electronics Maintenance Technician



    Job Description


    Basic Function
    Under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and in cooperation with the Team Leader, service, maintain, and repair Company equipment and the facility, making independent decisions with minimal direct supervision given appropriate instructions.
     
    Primary Duties and Responsibilities
    1. Repair and maintain machinery, mechanical equipment, etc. in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s specifications, and generally accepted mechanical maintenance and safety procedures.
    2. Maintain/inspect plant systems that include water, heat, gas, oxygen, and compressed air.
    3. Maintain and inspect hoists and assist with preventative maintenance programs.
    4. Assist and/or work under the supervision of qualified electricians in the installation and maintenance of electrical tools, parts, electrical or electronic equipment and systems.
    5. Maintain work area in clean, orderly, and safe condition, following 6S guidelines.
    6. Recommend and requisition parts and supplies as needed in accordance with Company standard policy and maintain inventories of maintenance repair parts.
    7. Fabricate parts, jigs, racks, etc. for the Maintenance department and production of products.
    8. Use a computer mouse to access and open/close computer documents.
    9. Operate or use various hand, power, and air tools including welding gun, scrapers, grinders (portable & bench), wrenches, hammer, cutting torches, drills, punches, a tape measure, and Air Arc.  Also operate or use forklifts, and overhead hoists and cranes with associated rigging equipment.
    10. Keep maintenance equipment and tools operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; follow manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshoot malfunctions; call for repairs; and complete daily check sheets.
    11. Complete work tasks as necessary to meet maintenance specifications.  Perform work to the utmost of one self’s ability at all times. Continuously strive to improve one self’s work-related skills, efficiency, and the quality of output.
    12. Perform or assist other departments and/or personnel in maintenance, fabrication, repair, construction projects, assembly, etc. as qualified and requested by Supervisor or Department Leader.
    13. Interact with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; comply with Company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and uphold KPI Core Values.
     
    Essential Functions
    1. Perform work standing on concrete up to 10 hours per day.
    2. Ability to use general mechanic and maintenance tools and equipment.
    3. Ability to maneuver in congested work environment with usual working conditions associated with heavy equipment repair (exhaust, solvent, etc.)
    4. Ability to work on, in, around, and under equipment as necessary to perform duties. Climb ladders, work platforms, stairs, etc.
    5. Ability to read and interpret necessary instructions or specifications required performing duties.
    6. Primary work assignment will require employees to be able to frequently push/pull/lift up to 45 pounds.  Employees may occasionally push/pull/lift greater than 45 pounds if they are physically able to safely do it.  Employees are encouraged to use caution at all times when pushing/pulling/lifting.  Please consider the size, shape, weight of the object to be pushed/pulled/lifted, the path and the distance you must travel along with your own physical ability.  If necessary, please seek assistance with pushing/pulling/lifting tasks.  Employees should never lift more than they are physically able to do. 
    7. Two to three years of progressive manufacturing experience.
    8. Computer experience desired, particularly the ability to use a mouse, and locate and open/close files.
